Private Server

I now host a second Minecraft server for my IRL friends, but it's on the same computer, so Moobcraft went from having 3700M of ram to only 2G. The private server is invite only, and loose survival mode with keepInventory=1 and teleporting.

Minecraft Server Lists

Moobcraft is now being advertised on five server lists, meaning we should expect more people, and possibly griefers. If something is griefed, contact the server admin either in game by sending a /mail to CesiumCs, or by Discord at Cesium#5061. The server takes hourly backups that can be easily restored.

Switch from Mac OS X to Ubuntu

Our server used to run on Mac OS X 10.11, which is very out of date. I decided to upgrade it to Ubuntu finally, taking almost a full day of downtime to do. What had to be done: fix hard drive because everything was misaligned, resize OSX's HFS+ partition which GParted doesn't like, finally install Ubuntu, install b43 which took like half an hour cause I didn't know what I was doing, install node Java and Apache, and move all the files over and fix symlinks and directory references. Overall that could have taken much less than a full day, but between sleep and school I had to take breaks. Things are likely to be broken, so let me know if something is not working. Today the Discord bot now can tell you who is on the server, so you don't even need to use your browser to go to Plan.

Domain Name

Now that we have a domain name for Moobcraft, it looks more professional, and I'm starting to share the server with people outside of the Discord server. Expect to maybe see new people, and make sure to claim your land with /claim to avoid new griefers.
